The Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Rob Anders, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Rob Anders, Ron Cannan, Hon. Albina Guarnieri, Betty Hinton, Gilles-A. Perron, Todd Norman Russell, Bev Shipley, Brent St. Denis, Peter Stoffer, David Sweet and Roger Valley.

 

Acting Members present: Jean-Yves Roy for Roger Gaudet.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michel Rossignol, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging: Clara Fitzgerald, Program Director. University of Western Ontario: Mark Speechley, Professor, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) the Committee resumed its study of Veterans Health Care Review and Veterans Independence Program.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the following witnesses:

Aboriginal Veterans Association of Canada;

Canadian National Institute for the Blind: Cathy Moore, National Director;

Canadian National Institute for the Blind: Bernard Nunan, Researcher, Writer;

Korea Veterans Association of Canada: Terry Wickens, National President;

National Initiative for the care of the Elderly (NICE): Maggie Gibson, member and

Simon Fraser University: Gloria Gutman, professor

be invited to appear in relation to the Veterans Health Care Review and Veterans Independence Program.

 

At 5:07 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
