The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Vice-Chair, Don H.Bell, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Don H. Bell, Robert Carrier, Ed Fast, Brian Jean, Mario Laframboise, David J. McGuinty, Brian Storseth and Jeff Watson.

 

Acting Members present: Larry Miller for Merv Tweed and Hon. Stephen Owen for Hon. Charles Hubbard.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: John Christopher, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Aéroports de Montréal (Dorval and Mirabel): Normand Boivin, Vice-President, Airport Operations; James Cherry, President and Chief Executive Officer. Canadian Air Transport Security Authority: Jacques Duchesneau, President and Chief Executive Officer; Mark Duncan, Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer; Kevin McGarr, Vice-President and Chief Technology Officer.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) the Committee commenced a study on Examination of security issues at the Montreal-Trudeau Airport.
 

Jacques Duchesneau and James Cherry made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 5:21 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:23 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Special Order made Thursday, April 4, 2006, the Committee resumed consideration of the Main Estimates 2006-2007: Votes 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, L70, L75 and 80 under TRANSPORT referred to the Committee on Tuesday, April 25, 2006.
 

The Chair called Votes 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, L70, L75 and 80 under TRANSPORT.

 

Votes 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, L70, L75 and 80 under TRANSPORT carried.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Votes 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, L70, L75 and 80, less the amounts voted in Interim Supply, under TRANSPORT to the House.

 

At 5:25 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
