The Standing Committee on Health met at 11:03 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Rob Merrifield, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dave Batters, Bonnie Brown, Patricia Davidson, Nicole Demers, Hon. Ken Dryden, Rick Dykstra, Steven John Fletcher, Hon. Hedy Fry, Christiane Gagnon, Rob Merrifield and Penny Priddy.

 

Acting Members present: Tina Keeper for Hon. Brenda Chamberlain.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Susan Baldwin, Legislative Clerk. Library of Parliament: Nancy Miller Chenier, Analyst; Sonya Norris, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Public Health Agency of Canada: Jim Harlick, Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Policy, Communications and Corporate Services; Jane Allain, General Counsel, Legal Services; Guy Faggiolo, General Counsel, Legal Services.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Monday, May 8, 2006, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-5, An Act respecting the establishment of the Public Health Agency of Canada and amending certain Acts.
 

The Committee commenced its clause-by-clause study of the Bill.

 

By unanimous consent, Clauses 2 to 24 inclusive carried on division.

 

The Short Title carried on division.

 

The Preamble carried on division.

 

The Title carried.

 

The Bill carried on division.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report the Bill to the House.
