The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 11:03 a.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Gerald Keddy, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Gérard Asselin, Raynald Blais, Blaine Calkins, Rodger Cuzner, Randy Kamp, Gerald Keddy, James Lunney, Hon. Lawrence MacAulay, Bill Matthews, Scott Simms and Peter Stoffer.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: François Côté, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Fisheries and Oceans: Larry Murray, Deputy Minister; Kevin Stringer, Director General, Resource Management Directorate, Fisheries and Aquaculture Management; Cal Hegge, Assistant Deputy Minister, Human Resources and Corporate Services; Sue Kirby, Assistant Deputy Minister, Oceans and Habitat Sector; Wendy Watson-Wright, Assistant Deputy Minister, Science Sector; William G. Doubleday, Director General, Economic Analysis and Statistics; Richard Wex, Director General, Habitat Management Directorate.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on April 26, 2007, the Committee commenced its study of the Environmental Process Modernization Plan (EPMP).
 

Larry Murray and Sue Kirby made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study of the Funding of Scientific Research by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.
 

William Doubleday made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 1:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
