The Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Colin Mayes, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Rod Bruinooge, Jean Crowder, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Marc Lemay, Yvon Lévesque, Colin Mayes, Hon. Anita Neville and Todd Norman Russell.

 

Acting Members present: Omar Alghabra for Gary Merasty, Steven Blaney for Inky Mark and Brian Storseth for Rod Bruinooge.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Marlisa Tiedemann, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Ronnie Campbell, Assistant Auditor General. Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development : Caroline Davis, Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Services. Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Sheila Fraser, Auditor General . Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development : Paul LeBlanc, Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Socio-economic Policy and Regional Operations Sector. Department of Health: Ian Potter, Assistant Deputy Minister, First Nations and Inuit Health Branch. Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development : Mary Quinn, Director General, Strategic Policy and Devolution Branch, Northern Affairs. Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Glenn Wheeler, Principal.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced its study of Chapter 5 of the Auditor General's Report.
 

The Auditor General made an opening statement and, with the other witnesses answered questions.

 

At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
