The Standing Committee on Transport met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 371 West Block, the Chair, Roger Gallaway, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dave Batters, Raymond Bonin, Robert Carrier, Bev Desjarlais, Hon. Roger Gallaway, Jim Gouk, James Moore, Francis Scarpaleggia, Caroline St-Hilaire and Borys Wrzesnewskyj.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: John Christopher, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Air Transport Association of Canada: Fred Gaspar, Vice President, Policy and Strategic Planning. Department of Transport: Brigita Gravitis-Beck, Director General, Air Policy; Maria Pagliarello, Director, National Airports Policy; Rod Dean, Director General, Airport Programs; Brion W. Brandt, Director, Policy, Security and Emergency Preparedness; Jean Barrette, Director, Security Operations, Security and Emergency Preparedness.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed a briefing session on the Canadian Airports System.
 

Brigita Gravitis-Beck made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 4:36 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:42 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced its study of Air Liberalization and the Canadian Airports System.
 

Fred Gaspar made a statement and answered questions.

 

James Moore gave notice of the following motion:

That the following witness: The Minister of Finance be invited to appear to brief the Committee in relation to the Canadian Airport Rents Policy.

 

At 5:27 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
