The Subcommittee on Solicitation Laws of the Standing Committee on Justice, Human Rights, Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness met at 5:45 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N Centre Block, the Chair, John Maloney, presiding.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Paule Brunelle, Libby Davies and John Maloney.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Laura Barnett, Analyst; Lyne Casavant, Analyst.

 
The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.
 

On motion of Libby Davies, it was agreed, — That the suggested witnesses list for the Subcommittee's review of Solicitation Laws be adopted with the addition of the witnesses proposed by Mr. Art Hanger.

 

On motion of Libby Davies, it was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Subcommittee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a draft budget respecting the Subcommittee’s proposed travel to Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montreal, Halifax and Toronto for consideration by the Subcommittee at a next meeting.

 

On motion of Libby Davies, it was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Subcommittee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a draft budget respecting the Subcommittee’s proposed travel to Amsterdam, Netherlands, for consideration by the Subcommittee at a next meeting, and that the Subcommittee's analysts be instructed to prepare a potential list of witnesses or activities for this proposed travel.

 

At 6:21 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
