The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met in a televised session at 9:03 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C Centre Block, the Chair, Pat O'Brien, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Claude Bachand, Hon. Larry Bagnell, Rick Casson, Odina Desrochers, Betty Hinton, Hon. Judi Longfield, Dave MacKenzie, Hon. Keith Martin, Pat O'Brien, Gordon O'Connor and Anthony Rota.

 

Acting Members present: Cheryl Gallant for Rick Casson.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michel Rossignol, Analyst. As Individual: Joseph P. Culligan, Consultant.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Sheila Fraser, Auditor General of Canada; Hugh McRoberts, Assistant Auditor General; Wendy Loschiuk, Principal.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to a briefing session on Chapter 4 of the Auditor General of Canada Report entitled: National Defence-C4ISR Initiative in support of Command and Control.
 

The Auditor General made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 10:00 a.m. Mr. Casson took the Chair.

 

At 10:05 a.m. Mr. O'Brien took the Chair.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Clerk proceed with the logistical preparations for the Committee's trips, in relation to its study on the Defence Policy Review, which were approved in the House Wednesday, April 20, 2005.

 

At 10:31 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
