The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 11:10 a.m. this day, in Room 209 West Block, the Chair, Andrew Telegdi, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: David A. Anderson, Colleen Beaumier, Roger Clavet, Meili Faille, Hedy Fry, Helena Guergis, Inky Mark, Bill Siksay, Andrew Telegdi and Lui Temelkovski.

 

Acting Members present: Nina Grewal for Rahim Jaffer.

 

Other Members present: Borys Wrzesnewskyj.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Benjamin Dolin, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: La Cité Collégiale: Andrée Lortie, President; Denis Hubert, Vice-President, Innovation and Market Develpment. Carrefour de l'immigration de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue: Monique Fay, Coordinator. Regroupement des cliniques juridiques communautaires d'Ottawa: Laurie Joe, Lawyer, Regroupement de: Clinique juridique francophone de l'Est d'Ottawa / Clinique juridique communautaire (Centre-ville) / Services juridiques de l'Ouest d'Ottawa / Services juridiques communautaires du Sur d'Ottawa. National Action Committee on the Status of Women: Sungee John, Interim President.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, the Committee resumed its study of Recognition of the International Experience and Credentials of Immigrants.
 

Andrée Lortie and Denis Hubert made statements and answered questions.

 

At 11:56 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:07 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, the Committee resumed its study on Citizenship Issues - Citizenship Revocation.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report on Citizenship Revocation.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee meet on Thursday, May 19 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. to resume consideration of a draft report on Citizenship Revocation.

 

At 1:03 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:10 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, the Committee resumed its study of Family Reunification Issues.
 

Monique Fay, Laurie Joe et Sungee John made statements and answered questions.

 

At 2:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
