The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 1:23 p.m. this day, in the Salon B/C, Edmonton Chateau Lacombe, Edmonton, Alberta, the Chair, Andrew Telegdi, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: David A. Anderson, Meili Faille, Hedy Fry, Rahim Jaffer, Bill Siksay, Hon. Andrew Telegdi and Lui Temelkovski.

 

Acting Members present: Nina Grewal for Diane Ablonczy.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Benjamin Dolin, Analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, the Committee resumed its study of Recognition of the International Experience and Credentials of Immigrants.
 

Panel I. Foreign Credentials

 

Lucenia Ortiz made a statement and, with Patrick Iroegbu and Tessie Oliva answered questions.

 

At 2:01 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 2:07 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Panel II.

 

Al Kaye, Kashif Alavi, Luketa M'pindou, Terry Gushuliak and Christina Nsaliwa made statements and answered questions.

 

At 3:15 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:25 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Panel III.

 

Chinwe P. Okelu, Dianne Nielsen, Ralph Paufler, Sital Singh Nanuan, Alice Colak, Heather Plaizier and Genai McLeod made statements and answered questions.
