The Standing Committee on Transport met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 208, West Block, the Vice-Chair (Opposition), James Moore, presiding.
Member(s) of the Committee present: Larry Bagnell, Rex Barnes, Liza Frulla, Roger Gallaway, Jim Gouk, Stan Keyes, Mario Laframboise, James Moore, Marcel Proulx.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: John Christopher, Principal Analyst.
Witness(es): From the Cement Association of Canada: Michael Giroux, Vice President; Patricia Devine, Director, Public Affairs. From the Association of Consulting Engineers of Canada: Claude Paul Boivin, President, ACEC; Pierre-André Dugas, Vice-President, Transports - Génivar; Peter Boyd, President, Delcan.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and its Order of Reference of February 3, 2003 (See Minutes of proceedings), the Committee proceeded with the examination of the issue of highway infrastructures across Canada.
Mr. Michael Giroux and Ms. Patricia Devine made opening statements and answered questions.
At 4:26 p.m. the sitting was suspended.
At 4:29 p.m. the sitting resumed.
Mr. Claude Paul Boivin, Mr. Peter Boyd and Mr. Pierre-André Dugas made opening statements and answered questions.
At 5:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
