The Subcommittee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 11:23 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Carolyn Bennett, presiding.Member of the Subcommittee present: Carolyn Bennett.
Acting Members present: Gérard Binet for Anita Neville, Diane St. Jacques for Tony Tirabassi, Larry Spencer for Reed Elley.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Kevin Kerr, Julie Cool, researchers.
Witnesses: From the Canadian Medical Association: Dr. Dana Hanson, President; William Tholl, Secretary General and CEO. From the Canadian Association of Physicians with Disabilities: Dr. Ashok Muzumdar, President. From the Canadian Psychiatric Association: Dr. Blake Woodside, President elect. From the Round Table Project on Safe and Timely Return to Function and Return to Work: Dr. Lisa Doupe, Co-Leader. From the Occupational and Environmental Medical Association of Canada: Dr. Lily Cheung, Past President. From the Elizabeth Bruyère Health Centre: Dr. Hillel Finestone, Physiatrist; Dr. Milan Unarket, Physiatrist.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Subcommittee resumed its study of Canada Pension Plan Disability. (See Minutes of Proceedings of Wednesday November 20, 2002, Meeting no. 1).
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
