Tuesday, March 18, 2003
The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met at 1:10 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Vice-Chair, Tony Valeri, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Ken Epp, Paul Forseth, Robert Lanctôt, Judy Sgro, Tony Tirabassi and Tony Valeri.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jack Stilborn, Analyst.
Witnesses: From the Office of the Information Commissioner of Canada: J. Alan Leadbeater, Deputy Information Commissioner of Canada; Ruth McEwan, Director General, Corporate Services.
Pursuant to an order made on Tuesday, March 18, 2003 and pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee resumed its study of the Supplementary Estimates (B) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2003 (See Minutes of Proceedings of Monday, March 17, 2003.
The Vice-Chair called Justice Vote 40b.
Alan Leadbeater made an opening statement and with Ruth McEwan answered questions.
At 1:40 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
