Standing Committee on Official Languages met in a televised session at 3:49
p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Mauril Bélanger,
presiding.
Members of the Committee
present:
Carole-Marie Allard, Mauril Bélanger, Eugène Bellemare and Christiane Gagnon.
Acting Member present: Paul Szabo for Raymond Simard.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the
Library of Parliament: Marion Ménard, analyst.
Witnesses: From the TFO-TV Ontario:
Claudette Paquin, Managing Director. From the Telefilm Canada: Richard
Stursberg, Executive Director; Michel Pradier, General Director, Quebec. From
the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation: Daniel Gourd, Executive
Vice-President, French Television; Sylvain Lafrance, Vice-President, French
Radio and New Media; Danielle Desjardins, Television Reg. and Corporate
Affairs, French Television.
Pursuant to Standing Order
108(3)d), the Committee resumed its study of the Canadian Television
Fund and the production in official language minority communities.
Claudette Paquin made a
statement and answered questions.
Daniel Gourd and Sylvain
Lafrance made a statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.
Richard Stursberg made a
statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.
At 4:30 p.m., the sitting
was suspended.
At 5:00 p.m., the sitting
resumed.
At 5:40 p.m., the Committee
adjourned to the call of the Chair.
