Meeting No. 8

Wednesday, December 4, 2002

The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met at 3:36 p.m. this day, in Room 705, La Promenade Building, the Vice-Chair, John McKay, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Ivan Grose, Derek Lee, Paul Harold Macklin, John Maloney, Richard Marceau, John McKay, Vic Toews.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, senior analyst.

Witnesses: From the Association des services de réhabilitation sociale du Québec inc.: François Bérard, Criminologist; Donald Beaudoin, Criminologist.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of the issue of conditional sentencing.

The witnesses each made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:33 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
