The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Walt Lastewka, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Paul Crête, Nick Discepola, Brian Fitzpatrick, Walt Lastewka, Serge Marcil, Brian Masse, Dan McTeague, James Rajotte, Brent St. Denis  and Joseph Volpe.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Lalita Acharya and Dan Shaw, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the Pembina Institute: Matthew Bramley, Director, Climate Change. From the Simon Fraser University: Marc Jaccard, Director, Energy and Materials Research Group. From the Department of Finance: Jeremy Rudin, General Director, Economic and Fiscal Policy Branch.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Briefing on the Potential Economic Impact on Canadian Industry of Implementing the Kyoto Protocol.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 5:35 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
