Tuesday, November 5, 2002

The Standing Committee on Finance met at 9:00 a.m. this day, in Toronto at the Toronto Congress Centre, Room Gordon Pinsent 1-2-3, the Chair, Sue Barnes, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Sue Barnes, Scott Brison, The Hon. Maria Minna, Charlie Penson, Tony Valeri, Bryon Wilfert.

Acting Member present: Brian Masse for Lorne Nystrom.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Blayne Haggart, Marc-André Pigeon, Research Officers. From the Committees Directorate: Marc-Olivier Girard, Committee Clerk.

Pursuant to Standing Order 83.1, the Committee continued its pre-budget discussions.

 

Donald F. Warden, Paul Renaud, Peter Lewis, Terry Ruffel, Richard D. Hunter and Dr. Peter Ewins, each made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 10:25 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

 

At 10:30 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Richard Gauthier, Jim Keon, Mae Harman, Greg deGroot-Maggetti, Leonard Crispino, Mary Webb, each made a statement and, with Gerda Kaegi, answered questions.

At 12:01 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
