The Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met in a televised session at 11:05 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Judi Longfield, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Raymonde Folco, Judi Longfield, Gurbax Malhi, Joe McGuire, Monte Solberg, Diane St-Jacques and Alan Tonks.

Acting Member(s) present: Diane Bourgeois for Paul Crête.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Kevin Kerr and Bill Young, Research Officers.

Witness(es): From the Department of Human Resources Development: David Cogliati, Director General, Canada Student Loans; Dale Barbour, Director, Program Management, Canada Student Loans Directorate. From the BDP Business Data Service Ltd.: David Frankham, Vice-President, Business Development. From the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations: Liam Arbuckle, National Director. From the Canadian Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators: Tony Norrad, President. From the Canadian Federation of Students: Ian Boyko, Chairperson. From the EDULINX Canada Corporation: Sandra Ferguson, Senior Vice-President, Sales & Service; Douglas Gilhooly, Assistant Vice-President, Sales & Service.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Access to Post Secondary Education, update on administrative arrangements.

David Cogliati, David Frankham, Liam Arbuckle, Tony Norrad, Ian Boyko and Sandra Ferguson made statements and with the other witnesses answered questions.

At 12:36 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
