The Standing Committee on Health met in a televised session at 3:39 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Bonnie Brown, presiding.
Members of the Committee present, Reg Alcock, Bonnie Brown, Jeannot Castonguay, Stan Dromisky, Rob Merrifield, Hélène Scherrer, Judy Sgro, Yolande Thibeault, Judy Wasylycia-Leis.
Acting Members present: David Anderson for James Lunney, Pauline Picard for Réal Ménard, Carol Skelton for Diane Ablonczy, Paul Szabo for Bob Speller.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Sonya Norris and Monique Hébert, Research Officers.
Witness: From the Canadian Institutes of Health Research: Alan Bernstein, PhD, FRSC, President.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108 (2), the Committee commenced its consideration of recent initiatives of the Governing Council of the Canadian Institutes for Health Research.
The witness made a statement and answered questions.
At 5:25 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
