The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, John Williams, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: John Finlay, Marlene Jennings, Philip Mayfield, Benoît Sauvageau, and John Williams.
Acting Member present: Derek Lee for Beth Phinney.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean Dupuis and Brian O'Neal, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Office of the Auditor General of Canada: L. Denis Desautels, Auditor General of Canada; Sheila Fraser, Deputy Auditor General; Maria Barrados, Assistant Auditor General; Richard Flageole, Assistant Auditor General; Shahid Minto, Assistant Auditor General; Grant Wilson, Principal, Audit Operations Branch.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(e), the Committee proceeded to the consideration of the April 2000 Report of the Auditor General of Canada referred to the Committee on Tuesday, April 11, 2000.
Denis Desautels made an opening statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 4:48 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
