Meeting No. 15

Wednesday, November 4, 1998

The Sub-Committee on Human Rights and International Development of the Standing Committee of Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 3:37 p.m. this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, Colleen Beaumier, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Colleen Beaumier, Paul Bonwick, Maud Debien, Hon. Sheila Finestone.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Gerald Schmitz, Research Officer.

Witness: From the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development: Jim Michel, Chairman, Development Asistance Committee. From the Canadian International Development Agency: Cathy Mains, Senior Analyst, Strategic Planning Division, Policy Branch.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Sub-Committee proceeded to meet with Jim Michel of the OECD.

Jim Michel made an opening statement and, with Cathy Mains, answered questions.

At 4:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
