MINUTES OF PROCEEDING
(Meeting No. 62)

TUESDAY, MAY 12, 1998

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 9:00 o’clock a.m., this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Vice-Chair, Bob Wood, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Hec Clouthier, Judi Longfield, John O’Reilly, David Price, George Proud, John Richardson, Pierrette Venne and Bob Wood.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner, Michel Rossignol and Dave Goetz, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From Queen’s University: Dr. Douglas Bland, Chair, Defence Management Studies Program. As individuals: Peter Desbarats; Brian Grainger.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference of the House of March 31, 1998, study of Bill C-25, an Act to amend the National Defence Act and to make consequential amendments to other Acts.

The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.

At 12:25 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
