MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

The Standing Committee on Finance met at 9:07 o’clock a.m. this day in the Atlanta Room, Renaissance Edmonton Hotel, the Chair, Maurizio Bevilacqua presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Maurizio Bevilacqua, Jim Jones, Gary Pilliteri, Karen Redman, Nelson Riis, Hon. Monte Solberg, Paul Szabo and Tony Valeri.

Acting Members present: Rahim Jaffer for Dick Harris; Odina Desrochers for Yvan Loubier.

Other Member present: Deborah Gray.

In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 83.1 the Committee resumed its Pre-Budget Consultation study. (See Minutes of Proceedings and Evidence, Meeting No. 3, Wednesday, October 15, 1997).

At 9:09 o’clock a.m., the witnesses participating in the Roundtable One made statements and answered questions.

At 10:34 o’clock a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:41 o’clock a.m., the sitting resumed with Round Table Two.

The Witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 12:12 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
