The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met in a televised session at 3:19 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Rey Pagtakhan, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Mark Assad, Jean Augustine, Leon Benoit, Norman Doyle, Raymonde Folco, Sophia Leung, Steve Mahoney, Pat Martin, John McKay, Grant McNally, Réal Ménard, Rey Pagtakhan and Andrew Telegdi.
Acting Members present: Gurmant Grewal for Jack Ramsay.
In attendance: From the Committees and Legislative Services: Susan Baldwin, Legislative Clerk. From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Margaret Young, Research Officer.
Appearing: The Hon. Lucienne Robillard, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration.

ORDERED, - That Bill C-63, An Act respecting Canadian citizenship be now read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration.
The Chairman called Clause 2.
The Minister made a statement and, with Norman Sabourin, Martha Nixon and Georges Tsai, answered questions.
At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
