The House resumed consideration of the motion of Mr. Martin (Minister of Finance), seconded by Mr. Gagliano (Secretary of State (Parliamentary Affairs) and Deputy Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), -- That Bill C-73, An Act to provide borrowing authority for the fiscal year beginning on April 1, 1995, be now read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on Finance.

The debate continued.

    Q-130 -- Mr. Strahl (Fraser Valley East) -- With regards to the determinate and indeterminate federal employees declared surplus in all the departments and agencies of the federal government, what are the reasons/categories for their surplus status, how many employees are in each category by department/agency, and how many employees in each department/agency are receiving pay without actually performing work?
