Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f), and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, the committee proceeded to a briefing by the Minister of Official Languages on his mandate and priorities.

The Minister made a statement and answered questions.

At 6:00 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 6:07 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $3,500, for the study of the adaptation of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Audiovisual Content for the International Market, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $1,500, for the study of bilingualism in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Senior Executive Committee, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the Chair write a letter to CBC/Radio-Canada and reiterates its invitation to Catherine Tait, Cesil Fernandes and Émilie Brazeau-Béliveau and strongly urges them to accept the invitation to appear in relation to the motion adopted on October 18, 2023.

At 6:35 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
