Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, May 1, 2023, the committee resumed its study of the allocation of resources to the Great Lakes Fishery Commission.

Niall Cronin made a statement and, with Felicia Minotti, answered questions.

At 11:58 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:01 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, January 20, 2022, the committee resumed its study of foreign ownership and corporate concentration of fishing licenses and quota.

The committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analyst for a draft report.

It was agreed, — That members of the committee submit to the clerk additional drafting instructions for the drafting of a report not later than 12 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.

It was agreed, — That the deadline for the submission of briefs be 12 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Friday, December 9, 2022, the committee resumed a briefing on report 21 of the 42nd Parliament entitled "West Coast Fisheries: Sharing Risks and Benefits".

It was agreed, — That members of the committee submit to the clerk additional drafting instructions for the drafting of a letter not later than 12 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023.

It was agreed, — That the draft letter be distributed to members of the committee for review, that the members communicate to the clerk their approval of the draft letter and that, at the Chair’s discretion, the clerk, in collaboration with the analyst, finalize and send the letter to the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, and publish a copy on the committee’s website.

At 12:49 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
