The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $2,250.00, for the study of Main Estimates 2023-24: Votes 1, 5 and 10 under Department of Fisheries and Oceans, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the letter sent to the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, in relation to the committee’s study of the closure of mackerel fishing in Atlantic Canada and the Gulf of the St. Lawrence, be published on the committee’s website.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, the committee resumed its study of the impacts of Hurricane Fiona and the climate crisis on Atlantic Canada.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the committee’s study of the impacts of Hurricane Fiona and the climate crisis on Atlantic Canada, the draft letter be approved, sent to the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, and published on the committee’s website.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, January 20, 2022, the committee resumed its study of the North Atlantic right whale.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Protection and Coexistence of the North Atlantic Right Whale in Canada".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

At 12:05 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
