Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Friday, November 25, 2022, the committee resumed its study of non-tariff barriers in Canada’s existing and potential international trade agreements.

Omar Allam, Carlo Dade, Emilie Bergeron, Gregory Kolz, and Rushi Ghadawala made statements and, with Sharon Zhengyang Sun, answered questions

At 5:03 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:07 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $13,500, for the study of U.S. countervailing and antidumping duties on Canadian exports of certain softwood lumber products, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That in the context of the study of non-tariff barriers in Canada’s existing and potential international trade agreements, the deadline for the submission of briefs be no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8.

It was agreed, — That in the context of the study of impacts of the Underused Housing Tax on Canadian border communities, the deadline for the submission of briefs be no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15.

At 5:19 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
