The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Fifth Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:

1. That the committee dedicate the next two meetings (February 2 and 6, 2023) to the consideration of a draft report for the study on the Status of the Artist Act and its impact on improving basic working conditions for artists;

2. That the committee dedicate the February 9, 2023 meeting for a briefing on Trauma Informed Practices;

3. That the committee invite the Minister of Canadian Heritage to appear for one hour with regard to his general mandate and that the committee invite Vicky Eatrides, to appear for one hour (immediately following the Minister) with regard to her appointment as Chairperson of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission;

4. That the deadline for the submission of preliminary witness lists for the committee’s study on Safe Sport in Canada be Monday, February 6, 2023;

5. That a minimum of seven further meetings be allocated for the committee’s study on Safe Sport in Canada;

6. That representatives from the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner be invited to appear with regard to the committee’s study on Safe Sport in Canada.

7. That the committee adopt all public testimonies from the Standing Committee on the Status of Women’s study on Women and Girls in Sports and incorporate those into its study on Safe Sport.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, January 31, 2022, the committee resumed its study of the Status of the Artist Act and its impact on improving basic working conditions for artists.

The committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

At 5:26 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
