Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), and the motions adopted by the committee on Monday, June 13, 2022, and Tuesday, September 20, 2022, the committee resumed its study of safe sport in Canada.

That the committee proceed to the consideration of the draft report.

At 4:23 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:29 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $500, for the study of Job Cuts Announced at CBC/Radio-Canada, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That, given that Canada is cohosting the 2026 World Cup alongside Mexico and the United States, and that the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Call to Actions 88-91 call on the Government of Canada to ensure long-term development of Indigenous athletes, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee devote at least 8 hours to study how the Federal Government can make targeted investments in Northern, Indigenous and other under-served communities to increase access to soccer, 2 hours devoted to hearing from entities involved in the organizing of the 2026 World Cup including representatives from FIFA and Soccer Canada, 2 hours devoted to First Nation, Inuit & Metis participation, 2 hours devoted to northern and rural communities and two hours for the participation of new Canadian youth.

ORDERED, — That the clerk of the committee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a draft budget respecting the committee’s proposed travel in relation to its study of Diversity of Canada’s Culture, Arts and Heritage, during the period of April to June 2024.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, March 20, 2023, the committee resumed its study of tech giants’ current and ongoing use of intimidation and subversion tactics to evade regulation in Canada and across the world.

The committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analysts for a draft report.

At 5:06 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
