Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 28, 2023, the committee proceeded to a briefing with the Minister of Canadian Heritage on his Mandate.

The Minister made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

A point of order was raised as to the procedural admissibility of requesting responses in a specific language.

RULING BY THE CHAIR

The Chair ruled that witnesses may respond to questions in the official language of their choice.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 9:40 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:44 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 10:22 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
