Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, the committee resumed consideration of Report 5, Follow-up Audit on Rail Safety—Transport Canada, of the 2021 Reports of the Auditor General of Canada, referred to the committee on Thursday, February 25, 2021.

The committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Follow-up Audit on Rail Safety".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the analysts and the clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the committee’s website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, March, 2021, the committee resumed consideration of Report 9, Investing in Canada Plan, of the 2021 Reports of the Auditor General of Canada, referred to the committee on Thursday, March 25, 2021.

The committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Investing in Canada Plan".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the analysts and the clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the committee’s website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, by April 30, 2022, Transport Canada provide the committee with an updated progress report on all ongoing, underway, and in-progress recommendations issued within (1) the March 2015 Report of the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, (2) the June 2016 Report of the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, (3) the 2018 Rail Safety Act Review, (4) the Transportation Safety Board Recommendations Reassessments, and (5) the Follow-up Audit on Rail Safety - Transport Canada report published by the Office of the Auditor General.

It was agreed, — That the committee create a working group for the planning of the CCPAC-CCOLA annual conference that it will be hosting in 2022, that the members will include the Chair, Vice-Chairs, clerk and analysts as well as representatives of the Office of the Auditor General and that the working group will report back to the committee in the fall concerning its progress on the planning of the conference.

At 12:00 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
