The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study, of up to two-days, starting Tuesday, December 8, 2020, on the implementation of the Pay Equity Act; that, following the Parliamentary Budget Officer’s report on the “Fiscal Analysis of Federal Pay Equity”, the committee invite the Federal Pay Equity Commissioner, the Minister of Labour, and the Parliamentary Budget Officer to give an update on the current status of pay equity in federally regulated workplaces; that the committee report its recommendations to the House and, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

At 11:48 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:00 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, the committee commenced its study of women’s unpaid work.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 1:01 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 1:03 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
