Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, March 18, 2021, the committee resumed its study of sexual misconduct within the Canadian Armed Forces.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Eliminating Sexual Misconduct within the Canadian Armed Forces".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021.

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House of Commons if there is sufficient time to do so prior to the summer adjournment period, or in the event that the House has already adjourned, that the committee seek permission to deposit the report with the Clerk of the House at any time during the adjournment.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the draft letter on midwifery services across Canada, as amended, be adopted and distributed to the federal Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Rural Economic Development, Minister of Health, Minister of Indigenous Services, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion; and in Ontario, the Premier of Ontario, Minister of Colleges and Universities, Minister of Indigenous Affairs and Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development.

It was agreed, — In light of the recent tragedy in London, Ontario, on June 6, 2021, where an act of terror based on hatred, white supremacy and Islamophobia violently took the lives of Salman Afzaal, Talat Afzaal, Yumna Afzaal and Madiha Salman and left a 9-year-old boy, Fayez Afzaal, injured and orphaned, that, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study of violence against Muslim women and other targeted women, including examining online hate and cyberbullying from a gendered and intersectional perspective; that the study build on the previous reports on this topic from the Standing Committee on the Status of Women and the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights; that the study make recommendations on the issue; that the committee report its findings to the House; and that the committee request a government response to its report.

At 7:56 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
