Pursuant to Standing Order 106(1), the committee met for the purpose of electing a chair. Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the clerk of the committee presided over the election of a chair.

On motion of Yvan Baker, it was agreed, — That Francis Scarpaleggia be elected Chair of the committee.

At 4:15 p.m., Francis Scarpaleggia took the Chair.

• Andrew Hayes, Deputy Auditor General and Interim Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, October 19, 2020, the committee commenced a briefing by the Auditor General of Canada and the Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development.

Karen Hogan and Andrew Hayes made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 5:36 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
