The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That regarding the study of the forest industry, and further to the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, officials of Natural Resources Canada be invited to appear before the committee on Monday, March 9, 2020, and that members shall submit lists of requested witnesses no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2020.

It was agreed, — That the committee undertake a study of the Supplementary Estimates (B), 2019-20, and that the Minister of Natural Resources be invited to appear before the committee on Monday, March 23, 2020.

It was agreed, — That the Minister of Natural Resources be invited to appear before the committee on Monday, March 23, 2020, regarding the Prime Minister’s mandate letter to the Minister of Natural Resources, and that this meeting be televised.

It was agreed, — That the committee undertake a context-setting study of the Generation Energy pathways recommended by the Generation Energy Council for not more than two meetings, and that witnesses from the Generation Energy Council be invited to appear before the committee.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Natural Resources undertake a study of the creation of a federal 2030 off-diesel strategy for rural, remote and Indigenous communities, that the committee meet for no less than four (4) meetings in relation to the study, that each party send a list of witnesses, by priority, including their contact information to the clerk of the committee at a date to be determined, and that the committee invite witnesses from Natural Resources Canada, Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada, and Indigenous Services Canada to appear at the first committee meeting on the study.

At 4:12 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:22 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 4:47 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
