The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That Ambassador Dominic Barton appear before the committee on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

It was agreed, — That a briefing with government officials be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and a second briefing be scheduled prior to the Ambassador's appearance on Wednesday, February 5, 2020.

It was agreed, — That each party submit a preliminary prioritized list of witnesses, including contact information, to the clerk of the committee no later than Friday, January 31, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.

It was agreed, — That the committee hold an in-camera briefing session on Monday, January 27, 2020, at 4:30 p.m.; that this briefing session be held without transcription or recording; that the witnesses be heard anonymously; that staff normally permitted to attend in camera meetings, pursuant to the routine motion adopted by the committee on Monday, January 20, 2020, be allowed to attend; that, as coordinated by the clerk, authorized departmental officials and House of Commons administration personnel also be permitted to attend; and; that all electronic devices, including wearable devices, be securely stored outside the committee room for the duration of this briefing session.

It was agreed, — That the analysts develop a workplan to be considered by the committee.

At 4:39 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:45 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 5:35 p.m., Stéphane Bergeron took the Chair.

At 5:40 p.m., Geoff Regan took the Chair.

At 5:55 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
