Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Wednesday, September 20, 2017, the Committee commenced consideration of Bill S-2, An Act to amend the Motor Vehicle Safety Act and to make a consequential amendment to another Act.

The Minister made a statement and, with Kim Benjamin, answered questions.

At 4:30 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:34 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Michael Ferguson made a statement and, with Richard Domingue, answered questions.

At 5:32 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:33 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $ 18,700, for the study of Bill S-2, An Act to amend the Motor Vehicle Safety Act and to make a consequential amendment to another Act, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the study of Bill S-2, An Act to amend the Motor Vehicle Safety Act and to make a consequential amendment to another Act, be reduced to three meetings, including clause-by-clause.

At 5:40 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
