Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Subcommittee proceeded to a briefing on the situation of human rights defenders in Mexico.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 1:59 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 2:03 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee travel to New York, New York, in the winter-spring of 2018, to investigate Canada's global engagement on human rights issues, and that the necessary staff accompany the Subcommittee.

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee travel to Geneva, Switzerland, in the winter-spring of 2018, to investigate Canada's global engagement on human rights issues, and that the necessary staff accompany the Subcommittee.

At 2:04 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
