Pursuant to the motion adopted by the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development on Thursday, February 4, 2016, and the motion adopted by the Subcommittee on Thursday, October 4, 2018, the Subcommittee resumed its study of the global state of the free press.

Daniel Bastard, by videoconference from Paris, France, and Ko Ko Naing, by videoconference from Anaheim, California, made statements and answered questions.

At 1:59 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
