Pursuant to the motion adopted by the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development on Februray 4, 2016, the Clerk of the Subcommittee presided over the election of a Chair.

On motion of Iqra Khalid, it was agreed, — That Anita Vandenbeld be elected Chair of the Subcommittee.

Anita Vandenbeld took the Chair.

The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That the Uyghur Canadian Society be invited to appear for a briefing on the human rights situation of the Uyghurs on Tuesday, October 2, 2018.

At 1:07 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
