Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2017-18: Vote 1 under House of Commons, Vote 1 under Office of the Chief Electoral Officer and Vote 1 under Parliamentary Protective Service, referred to the Committee on Thursday, February 23, 2017.

The Vice-Chair called Vote 1 under House of Commons and Vote 1 under Parliamentary Protective Service.

The Speaker of the House of Commons made a statement.

At 11:05 a.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

At 11:25 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:50 a.m., the sitting resumed.

The Speaker of the House of Commons, Marc Bosc, Daniel G. Paquette, Supt Mike O'Beirne and Robert Graham answered questions.

At 12:09 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:12 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The Vice-Chair called Vote 1 under Office of the Chief Electoral Officer.

Stéphane Perrault made a statement and, with Hughes St-Pierre and Michel Roussel, answered questions.

Vote 1 under House of Commons carried on division.

Vote 1 under Parliamentary Protective Service carried on division.

Vote 1 under Office of the Chief Electoral Officer carried on division.

ORDERED, — That the Vice-Chair report Vote 1 under House of Commons, Vote 1 under Parliamentary Protective Service and Vote 1 under Office of the Chief Electoral Officer to the House.

At 12:53 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:55 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee schedule 15 minutes of Committee business at the beginning of its next meeting.

At 1:03 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
