Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, February 22, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of a review of the status of official languages in minority settings across Canada.

Dan Lamoureux and Sylviane Martin-Laforge made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:30 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:35 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Sylvianne Lanthier made a statement and, with Suzanne Bossé, answered questions.

At 4:53 p.m., John Nater took the Chair.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That Bernard Généreux will propose a motion regarding the recognition of the Hon. Mauril Bélanger’s dedicated efforts in the area of La Francophonie and official languages, the final wording of which would be presented at the Committee’s next meeting, after consulting with other Committee members.

At 5:34 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
