Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 22, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of the state of Canada's Francophonie.

It was agreed, — That George Zegarac and Marie-Lison Fougère be permitted to be assisted by counsel.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 12:17 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:31 p.m., the sitting resumed.

François Choquette gave notice of the following motion:

That the Committee invite, as soon as possible, the Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne du Canada (FCFA), the Quebec Community Groups Network (QCGN), the Commissioner of Official Languages, and the Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie to attend a two-hour meeting to discuss a federal-provincial-territorial summit on official languages as part of the 50th anniversary of the Official Languages Act.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 1:04 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
