Minutes of Proceedings
Dr. Cornelia Wieman, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, made a statement and answered questions.
At 4:36 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 4:38 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.
Ian McDonald, Eric Janse and Marcus Pistor made statements and answered questions.
It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $20,000, for the study of suicide among Indigenous peoples and communities, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of suicide among Indigenous peoples and communities, the proposed budget in the amount of $98,995.60 for the Committee’s travel to Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Northern Ontario during Fall 2016 – Winter 2017 be adopted and that the Chair present the said budget to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.
It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of suicide among Indigenous peoples and communities, the proposed budget in the amount of $89,747.60 for the Committee’s travel to Nunavut and Quebec during Fall 2016 – Winter 2017 be adopted and that the Chair present the said budget to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.
It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of suicide among Indigenous peoples and communities, the proposed budget in the amount of $110,289.20 for the Committee’s travel to British Columbia and Northwest Territories during Fall 2016 – Winter 2017 be adopted and that the Chair present the said budget to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.
It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of suicide among Indigenous peoples and communities, the proposed budget in the amount of $57,922.20 for the Committee’s travel to Labrador, Quebec and Nova Scotia during Fall 2016 – Winter 2017 be adopted and that the Chair present the said budget to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.
It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of suicide among Indigenous peoples and communities, the Committee proceed with a survey-style e-consultation for targeted groups such as Health Canada officials; and that it solicit briefs and/or free text answers from the general public.
