Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Wednesday, October 26, 2016, the Committee commenced consideration of Bill C-243, An Act respecting the development of a national maternity assistance program strategy and amending the Employment Insurance Act (maternity benefits).

Mark Gerretsen made a statement and answered questions.

At 11:32 a.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

At 11:41 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:26 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Andrew Brown made a statement and, with Judith Buchanan, answered questions.

At 1:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
