The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed that the meetings of October 3 and October 5, 2017 be cancelled.

At 9:00 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:12 a.m., the sitting resumed in public.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, December 12, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of The Oceans Act’s Marine Protected Areas.

It was agreed, — That the analyst and the Clerk of the Committee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the Committee's website and for distribution to local media, in relation to the Committee's travel in October 2017.

Motion

Todd Doherty moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee immediately undertake a study of no less than two (2) meetings on the proposed changes to the tax system outlined in the government’s consultations titled “Tax Planning Using Private Corporations” as publicly released on July 18, 2017, in order to assess the impact of the changes on Canada’s fisheries, small business fishing companies, and the small businesses that support fishing companies and their surrounding communities; and that the findings be reported to the House.

Motion

Bernadette Jordan moved, — That the debate be now adjourned.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:
