Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2019-20: Votes 1, 5, 10, 15 and 20 under Department of Fisheries and Oceans, referred to the Committee on Thursday, April 11, 2019.

The Chair called Vote 1 under Department of Fisheries and Oceans.

The Minister and Jen O'Donoughue made statements and, with Timothy Sargent, Jeffery Hutchinson, Philippe Morel, Mario Pelletier, Andy Smith, Adam Burns and Mark Waddell, answered questions.

At 4:34 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:35 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 5:30 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:31 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed amendments to Bill S-238 be submitted to the Clerk of the Committee in both official languages by 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at the latest.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motions adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, and Wednesday, May 1, 2019, the Committee resumed its study of aquatic invasive species.

The Committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analysts for a report.

At 5:41 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
