Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, March 1, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of barriers facing women in politics.

William McBeath and Brenda O'Neill made statements and answered questions.

At 4:29 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:35 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 4:35 p.m., Pam Damoff took the Chair.

Madeleine Redfern, Arezoo Najibzadeh and Daniela Chivu made statements and answered questions.

Motion

Sheri Benson moved, — That, in relation to its study of barriers facing women in politics, the public evidence received by the Special Committee on Electoral Reform, during its meetings which took place from Tuesday, June 21, 2016 (No. 1) to Monday, November 28, 2016 (No. 57), be taken into consideration by this Committee for the purpose of its study on barriers facing women in politics.

Debate arose thereon.

The question was put on the motion and it was negatived, by a show of hands: YEAS: 1; NAYS: 6.

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
